Gloating Telecom Giants Will Get Congress To Hand Them Control Of The Internet Unless We Stop Them
Not since the beginning of civilization has there been an invention that has benefited human kind in the way the internet currently does. I view its preservation in the same vein with the First Amendment, and the protections provided for freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
There are some real heros in Congress like Rep Ed Markey (D-MA) who are fighting to preserve our surfing freedoms. And there are some real enemies like Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX), whose "Communications Opportunity, Promotion, and Enhancement Act of 2006", as has become all too usual, does exactly the OPPOSITE of what its title suggests. The House Commerce Committee is scheduled to take up consideration of this crippling of the internet this Wednesday, April 26, and we need every voice we have, with the freedom we now have, to USE the internet to demand that they enact strong protections for net neutrality [animated video].
The one click form below will send your personal message to all your government representatives selected below, with the subject "Enact strong protections for internet neutrality." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like.
Our current Congressman has forgotten about
the working people of this district. With your help,
Sanders can and will win this election -- and then
the people of the Third District will have a Congressman
who really understands their needs and concerns.
Thanks again for your interest in the campaign and
don't forget :
