Action pnum796 Last 25 Messages Transmitted Log Support Ohio SB 176 ********** [092800:021608] K.H., Cleveland, OH We in Ohio have enough problems with employment, and employers' powers over workers. We have let these people export our jobs, and exploit labor in other countries while giving us the shaft here in Ohio. Injured workers lives, and the lives and livelyhood of their families have been destroyed because of the privatization worker's compensation and the greed and coruption within the BWC in its becoming an enity wich no longer protects the rights of injured workers, but has insted become a tool to employers to absolve their obligation to the injured worker. We now have to pay for health, and life insurance wich used to be paid for by the employers, and now we have been victimized by the insurance corperations with HMO's and their basic indifference to public health, so they to can become wealthy beyond greed. We have paid years of dues to unions that refuse to protect us in times of need. And now we are refusing the rights of soldiers who put their lives on the line to protect our civil liberties their civilian jobs? It is truly unbelievable to me. Please support Ohio Senate Bill 176. Sincerely, ********** [231519:021508] M.S., Columbia Station, OH Please do right by our Homecoming Troops! Ohio Troops deserve better!! Ohio's brave soldiers should be guaranteed the right to return to their previous employment stateside without prejudice. Thank you. ********** [050407:021208] R.P., Chardon, OH It is appauling to me that service members jobs are not reserved for them after their time in active duty. This is just another example of a state administration that has its priorities very confused. ********** [181800:021108] D.G., Columbus, OH Why can't Ohio veterans return to their jobs? This is a double penalty that will not be forgotten ********** [162603:021108] D.K., Cleveland, OH Please support our veterans as they come back to civilian life. ********** [112851:021108] j.m., Cincinnati, OH I am truly ashamed that this e mail is necessary in my home state of Ohio. ********** [090052:021108] S.K., Akron, OH It is shameful that we don't protect the jobs of those who volunteer to serve our country. We must rectify this situation immediately. ********** [061344:021108] K.S., Ashley, OH Ohio and Vermont are the only two states who deny Veterans functional equality in their respective vocations when returning home from active duty. Lack of concern for the sleeveless re-employment of America's bravest and finest is wreaking undue hardships and havoc, in the lives of countless service men and women in our very midst. In the 127 General Assembly of Ohio, Senate Bill SB. 176 has been introduced to rectify this inequity. It is unconscionable that Ohio's Brave Soldiers should not be guaranteed the right to return to their previous employment stateside without prejudice. ********** [202738:021008] C.S., Columbus, OH Labor issues tend to be ignored, pooh-poohed and trated with contempt by the powerful and privileged these days. But it's harder to ignore workers when those workers are returning U.S. troops. Do what's right. Make sure they aren't further punished with being fired from their jobs for the crime of putting their lives in jeopardy for our country. ********** [170518:021008] n.e., Findlay, OH Equality and Justice for the Military in this Bill, Make it Pass! ********** [155128:021008] J.B., Cleveland, OH Please vote "YES ON SB 176." That U.S. soldiers - especially National Guardsmen - should be forced to participate in an unconscionable war, and then find their jobs gone when they return home is simply one more outrage of this war. But this outrage can be mitigated! ********** [145435:021008] J.E., Oxford, OH It is unconscionable that those who volunteer to fight for this country can be robbed of their jobs when serving overseas. There is no excuse not to protect their right to work. ********** [120317:021008] R.S., Cincinnati, OH Why should Ohio make our veterans second class citizens? They should be entitled to the same rights that veterans from other states receive. For a while, it seemed that more military lives were being lost here in Ohio than in other states. Don't know if this is now true. If our young people can give their life, family support, and everything they hold dear for our country, why should they suffer more than military in other states? Ohio SB 176 gives our state a chance to do the right thing. May all of us support our troops by contacting our Ohio senators and Ohio representatives to make certain this bill passes, and our military are given first class support like all the other troops. ********** [100322:021008] G.S., Hamilton, OH The military has screwed them over once, do not do likewise by not protecting their civilian employment. ********** [100212:021008] R.Z., Piqua, OH These service folks have been jerked around enough fighting George W. Bushe's War the least we can do is try to help rebuild their lives by making it possible for them to return to their jobs. ********** [092717:021008] B.B., Columbus, OH It is surely unjust for a citizen to be required to risk his/her life to serve the country only to return to civilian life and have his/her job not waiting! It is time for Ohio to require its patriotic(?!) businesses to guarantee the job be held or replaced with an equal or better one. ********** [084152:021008] p.d., Conneaut, OH When the Repugnants call to "support the troops" they don't actually mean" support the troops", they mean support war, any war, so long as it's war. War is good for business. Supporting the troops would mean bringing them home and 'commerce' just can't have that, where's the profit? ********** [080339:021008] L.R., Cincinnati, OH This is a distinction for Ohio that should be quite embarrassing. ********** [073511:021008] M.A., Sandusky, OH Shame on you Ohio and Vermont! It is deplorable, to think that as these Brave Men and Women are risking their lives for our freedoms, that ultimately when they finally make it back home, they are faced with the fact that they have lost their way of life at home. It makes me embarrassed to be a native Ohioan! We need to rectify this IMMEDIATELY! ********** [073045:021008] P.H., Elyria, OH Ohio and Vermont are the only two states who deny Veterans functional equality in their respective vocations when returning home from active duty. This is a crisis. We do not need more frustrated veterans killing people in the community. ********** [070648:021008] B.H., Marysville, OH "It is unconscionable that Ohio's Brave Soldiers should not be guaranteed the right to return to their previous employment without prejudice. Won't you join me today in sending a clear message to the General Assembly that our Ohio troops deserve better? Your participation will not only assure that action is taken but re-assure that legislators never lose interest in solving this problem, because of public yearning for positive change. And when elected to Congress, I will introduce a National Military Family Leave Act. Americas bravest deserve our help." ********** [064619:021008] M.W., Columbus, OH Protect people's jobs! Ohio needs to improve its protection of workers. There is no reason a returning veteran should have to worry about having a job upon returning home. ********** [062929:021008] B.B., Elyria, OH Please support SB 176. The very least our service men and women deserve is the option of returning to their previous employment after serving their country. ********** [052756:021008] P.P., Kent, OH In the 127 General Assembly of Ohio, Senate Bill SB. 176 has been introduced to rectify this inequity.
