Universal health care is, in my opinion, the most important issus in 2008...with ending our occupation of Iraq and bringing our troops home as #2. Then in #3 position is global warming and alternate energy.

greed is good! greed is great! greed is gainful! greed is gluttonous! greed is generative! greed is guiltless! greed is gruff! greed has gumption! greed is gutsy! greed is guileful!
Greed grows gruesome, grievous, grisly, gormandizing, granduer grasping gaffe!. Has no place in health care.

Dear Senators and Congressmen:

We are the only major industrialized nation without universal health care. Although we spend far more for our health care than any other nation, we lag woefully behind in fundamental things like life expectancy and infant mortality. Why? Because we insist on a medical system run not by medical personnel for the benefit of patients, but by insurance and pharmaceutical lobbies for the benefit of corporate stockholders.

Many physicians have grown tired of seeing patients suffer needlessly. Over 15,000 of them along with two former surgeons general and the deans and faculties of some of America's most prestigious medical schools, have come up with a Physicians National Health Plan.

For about 5% of wages (instead of paying for employer plans) and a 0.5% tax on stock and bond trading, the plan provides comprehensive health care for all Americans. This includes prescription drugs, eye and dental care, physician's care, hospitalization, even psychiatric care. The plan now languishes in the Republican Congress as HR 676. Proposed by John Conyers and co-sponsored by over thirty-five other legislators, HR 676 would solve our heath care crisis.

Please, support this plan. Thank-you.

We're middle income blue workers that contribute in the building of this country without decent health insurance coverage! It's in-human and ridiculous when we can't even taking care of our citizen for a basic health plan? Yet, we take resources from this country to ship them oversea some third world countries and elsewhere in the name of religion, politics or whatever and left millions of hard working American families without decent health coverage? What good is it? I urge you to recognize this critical problem in our country and its people to vote for a Universal health plan for all American not just a fews who can afford them. Thanks.

This is such an important issue to so many American citizens and needs to be considered in a bi-partisan manner. The costs of health care keeps people from seeking medical attention when needed...I am one of those people! Please support this much needed legislation.

Please let us stop focusing on defense and more efforts into the issues that can better the lives or people in America; the economy and better health care for all. Also where healthcare improves the lives of Americans, our defense initiative focuses on destruction. Let us focus on ways we can improve the lives of others and not destroy them.

As a primary care PA, I can think of no other bill that would improve the quality of my work-life more than this one! The suffering of people without insurance is so disheartening that it has become hard to continue the work I do...

The citizens of the United States need a universal health care system. We are behind other developed nations in a fair and comprehensive health care for all. Why is this? Because our health care system is run by greedy insurance and pharmaceutical companys and their lobbys. Our own government has become run by corporate entities such as the military/industrial complex. We need to seriously deal with that as well. People are suffering because they can't prevent certain issues such as complications from not even having dental care. So many of these costs are prohibitive to even have basic care. We also need basic chiropractic care for persons injured on the job from lifting. This is a very common problem with many workers. Our health care system and the monetary burdens placed on social services are complicated by not having basic health care for all. The taxpayers end up paying the burden. Please support and pass HR 676 for Comprenensive Health Coverage for all Americans.

As representatives of all the people, I am hoping you will have the will and the guts to do the right thing. Americans are already paying for all through their insurance premiums. It is costing more money to fund the uninsured because they tend to access the most expensive healthcare, emergency rooms. Do you have the chutzpah to do the right thing? We are the only developed nation without healthcare for all. Why?

As one of the leaders in the world, it is unacceptable that we are not a rolemodel for a Universal Health Care system. The time for our representatives to enact a Universal Health Care system in the United States is long overdue! The time has come!!!

My personal and professional experiences with healthcare has left me disillusioned and thoroughly convinced that the current system is broken. I need to know that Americans'
heathcare is important to elected officials who have the capacity and duty to change this broken system and are dedicated to implementing HR 676...Physicians National Health Plan. For years, the insurance and pharmaceutical
lobbyist power to withhold from Americans a much needed
change is totally unacceptable and is in no means financially
sound, other than to lobbyist and private monied interests.

Why is it that this government feels it can continue to borrow money from the Social Security coffers (more the 12 trillion to date) and then turn around and say that Social Security and all its benefits cannot be sustained? That the benefits must be cut! What needs to be addressed is the corruption, the pork allocations and thief by Congress. It is time that seniors banned together to vote against corruption and the killing of our children. If they do not vote for their rights very few others will.

My mother receives a monthly check from Social Security but if not for the additional monies I provide she would not be able to survive. By the way there is no mortgage on the house. Her money is used for food, utilities and medication. So I ask what of the seniors who have no children to help them out? Why does the US Government feel free to spend MY TAX DOLLARS on bridges to nowhere, roads through national parks not needed, in-door parks not needed, a WAR OF CHOICE to benefit just a few and kill our young men and women BUT THEY WILL CUT FUNDS TO THE MOST VULNERABLE AND LEAST ABLE TO PROTECT THEMSELVES. And these cuts go against my wishes and the wishes of the majority of the AMERICAN TAX PAYER who footing the bill.

Good health care can be available across the board to all Americans at a cost of only 5% of individual income. When insurance companies are making our life or death health decisions, and charging us more for the privilege, it seems
obvious that we cannot afford to deny Americans a federal health plan affordable to every citizen.

Please review HR 676 Comprehensive Health Coverage. If you have health coverage shouldn't all Americans?

Please support universal healthcare in our country. Millions of people live every day with a kind of low grade terror - wondering how they'll be able to make ends meet if they get sick or injured. Take away this terror - support our nation's health.

National Health care is in idea whose time is long past overdue. The only thing preventing it now...is corporate greed and public ignorance, and people are now dying in record numbers for these nefarious couses. Support National Health now. Pass HR 676.

I am a substitute teacher. I do not have any health coverage at this time. I am single. I have not had my eyes checked for years and I cannot afford to go see the dentist. I have no health coverage or money enough to pay him. I would sure like to have health insurance that covers everything.

In my opinion, this is the most important issue in the United States today. While Senators cannot vote on H.R. 676, please endorse single-payer national insurance. It will help to right the wrong of persons dying because their health insurance company cuts them off or claims pre-existing conditions when they become seriously, and expensively, ill. It will make U.S. businesses more competitive in world trade. It will help our standing in world opinion to be seen as a nation that cares about all its people.

Time has come for Comprehensive Health Coverage. We, the people have been waiting for this Bill since 1948. Don't put it off any longer. Vote for HR676

It is time for HR676, Comprehensive Health Coverage! Americans are struggling with the nightmare of our healthcare system. Hospitals are struggling as well with the insane multiple systems of insurers. Insurance companies profits are at all time highs! It is a scandal that should not be allowed to continue. As a Registered Nurse I ask you to show some courage and vision for the people.

health care helps us all--a healthy workforce is more productive, healthy families lead to healthy children, and of course it is much more humane to have healthy people--especially when we have the resources to do this.

The US is the ONLY industrialized nation that does not provide medical care for all its citizens. It is positively "Dickensian" for us to continue supporting a wasteful system that perpetuates suffering and denies dignity to so many.

We may have the best medical care available in the whole world, but only the rich and well to do can afford it now! It is high time that the price gouging health care and insurance industries were regulated and that health care be made available to all U.S. citizens.
