indicators from many sources show that the alleged economic growth (which is also alleged to slow soon) has not trickled down to the middle and poorest incomes in the country. It is also unfair, simply unfair and best and punishing at worst.

President Bush's targeted tax cuts are morally wrong. Super wealthy people already have more than ample discretionary funds while the middle class and poor are being looted to pay for the tax gifts to the very wealthy. The result is a massive transfer of money to the wealthy. This is at a time when Bush's spending for his war in Iraq is bankrupting the country and building up absolutely huge debts. This makes no sense at all. It seems as if he is out to destroy the country economically.

After this administration has almost bankrupted the country, it's time for Congress to rescind the unfair tax cuts that benefitted the wealthy. Let the wealthy people who supported this illegal, immoral war help pay for it. They should give back their tax cuts and enlist in the military since they like war so much and benefit from it.

High gasoline costs and high energy costs have stretched the average tax payer way to thin. It is not the rich that need help. Rescind the tax cuts to the wealthy.

There are several types of fiscal policies that can stimulate the economy--tax cuts and increases in government spending being the basic categories. Wealthy people are more likely to invest additional income than working and middle class people, who generally spend more of additional income from a tax cut on purchase of goods and services in the present.

Increasing of consumption increases output of goods and services more quickly, but increases of investment have longer term effects. So essentially the only good reason to give tax cuts to the wealthy is to increase investment. However, there are many types of government spending that would increase investment, would have specific positive impacts, rather than diffuse impacts based on the individual spending/investment decisions of individual people who get tax cuts, and many that would benefit people who need help, Some examples are education (Head Start, for example), infrastructure (power grid, roads, public transportation), scientific research, and energy-efficiency programs.

To stimulate the economy quickly, give tax cuts to the less wealthy (which also happen to be the people who need them most)--to grow the economy in the long term, increase government spending that invests in the physical and human capital of our country. If we want to cut taxes over all, we first need to reduce spending (military being no exception), and pay down the debt, and then the cuts should be across the board, but still maintaining (and even improving) the progressivity of the tax code.

There--that's my economic policy suggestion! To stimulate the economy, you DON'T have to give rich people tax cuts. There are many ways to increase investment that don't involve eliminating taxes on dividends or capital gains.

In the past six years, he distance between the rich and the poor in our nation has widened. America has been afflicted with what has become a fiscal disaster. A vast chasm now occupies the space where the once proud American middle class stood. Tax cuts for the rich at the expense of the poor, tax breaks for mega-corporations who send American jobs overseas, the "corporatization" of our Federal government and labor policies that blunt the impact of unions have created a new American Aristocracy and silenced the voice of the American worker.

President Bush refuses to acknowledge his damage. Stubbornly, he defends his absurd tax cuts--the only such cuts in history ever granted in any country during a time of war. He continues to under fund wars on multiple fronts, yet won't demand that our wealthiest citizens contribute their fair share.

Our record budget and trade deficits make us ever more reliant on and vulnerable to former enemies like China. When we can't pay our bills, we increase our debt ceiling. As individuals, if we were to manage our finances in this manner, we'd find ourselves in court, facing revised laws that have criminalized bankruptcy.

This isn't mere cognitive dissonance; it's madness. It must be stopped. Our children's children will pay dearly for our lack of foresight, greed and avarice. Fiscal responsibility must return to government. We must start by reversing Bush's tax cuts. They're simply wrong...and they're hurting, not helping us. I'm convinced that no foreign force will defeat America. No, it's our greed that will be our undoing.

Its time to do something for all the people, not just the rich ones. Rescind the tax cuts and give one to the middle class. Begin a jobs program to put the unemployed back to work. The common good must come first if we are ever to get this country back on its feet.

The tax cuts for the wealthy enacted by Bush and the Republicans have got to go. These giveaways to the wealthy are insane while billions are being spent in Iraq and now the administration and the Pentagon are making plans to attack Iran. I am very frightened to have people running this country who have their heads in the clouds and refuse to see the damage (probably permanent) they are doing to this country and the average citizen. I really don't think the elected officials in Washington will be content until half the population is living in poverty and another 30% are struggling to get by.

Bush's tax cuts are INSANE, esp while we're at war! Those that most need help are getting none or very little!

We need to act realistically and stop the budget insanity. The tax cuts to the wealthy need rescinded and the conflict in Iraq ended. We cannot keep outspending our resources. I realize that Bush and his cronies would love to bankrupt and destroy the federal government, but that is not what your consituents want. Your obligation is to the Constitution and then to us, the people you are supposed to represent.

I am one who benefits from Bush's tax policies, and I would gladly give my money to help the greater good. When the entire country shares the wealth, we are all better off.

Ohio is an embarassment. We need to build strongs roads, good schools and better transportation systems. We areseverely behind our other midwestern states in this regard. Please act responsibly, don't enact a tax cut. Invest in our future.

Ohio is steadily falling farther behind other states in our union, in job creation, education funding, and the income gap. We need new vision and new leadership in Congress!

How are middle class families expected to be able to send their kids to college? How many of our High School Graduates will go out of state for college since our college costs are soaring? How are college graduates supposed to move ahead when there college loans are now higher than any other time in history?

We need legislation approved that will encourage and re-train the millions of manufacturing positions that have been lost due to careless outsourcing and the ill-planning by our leaders in D.C. What do we do with the vacated mills and factories in our cities? How do we re-invigorate and loss the stigma synonimous with cities within our country's "Rust Belt"?

New opportunities for investment in retirement, education, and economic development need to be made priorities over some of the 29 billion dollars of "misappropriated" funds as listed in this year's report by the non-profit organization that watches the budget spending.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

We need change in our government from the top down. It has become abundantly clear that the middle class and the poor of this country are being expected to work for less and pay more for taxes, gas, food, housing while corporate America gleans fantastic profits because our politicians are their friends rather than advocates for ALL CITIZENS. Now we learn that tax donations by some of the wealthy to Katrina were fully tax deductible and the money NEVER WENT FOR KATRINA at all. We have to get back to a basic society where it is not "cool" for the lawyers and their rich clients to push the law and use loopholes that have been created that were never intended. We have a government that makes laws to fit whatever behavior is found, by the citizens of this country, to be illegal or at least corrupt, i.e. retroactive laws. We must stop PERMANENT tax cuts for the wealthy, we MUST STOP illegal immigration and prosecute those who hire illegals. This country was founded on higher principals and it has fallen into an abyss with regard to ethics.

I am demanding the immediate recision of the unconscionable and unfair 1.6 trillion dollar tax cut, and for investment in middle class tax cut and good job creating public works projects instead, especially in our critical transporation infrastructure, and our childrens education, and environmental interests, that will dictate the eventual course of this great country.
